In addition to the four bands in the LACB, we also have a number of ensembles which perform on an adhoc basis.
The clarinet ensemble is perhaps our most experienced ensemble, having performed at the WABA championships and a number of independent performances. The focus of this ensemble is to have a go and a bit of fun. Everyone is welcome – we will never turn anyone away.
The saxophone ensemble has performed in the State Band Championships and also in community events. The ensemble is open to all saxophone players who are band members and rehearses on an opportunity basis. It seeks to expand its repertoire and plays all music genres.
The Flute Ensemble has also performed at the State Band Championships as well as community facilities. It also rehearses on an opportunity basis and seeks to undertake more performances.
A brass ensemble was formed in 2020 and this will have its first community performance in late 2020. Any brass instrument player can join the ensemble and it hopes to expand its activities over coming years.
We also have our Christmas Ensemble which are made up of a variety of instruments and has played for a number of years at Adventist Residential Care.
