Leeming Intermediate Band (LIB) was formed in October 2019 when the first full training cycle for the Leeming Training Band (LTB) was completed. The LIB plays music of a standard of difficulty between that of the LTB and LCB. The LIB provided an opportunity for members of the LTB who have completed their two-year training cycle to continue their musical progress in a more challenging environment. It also provides an opportunity for lapsed musicians, or experienced musicians learning a new instrument, to practice in supportive group environment. The LIB plays sheet music and gives some public performances. In 2022 the LIB will incorporate the LTB to provide a broader platform for concert band music and increased opportunity for the development of playing skills.
The LIB rehearses from 9.30 to 11am each Saturday during the school term. The rehearsals are held at the usual LACB rehearsal venue – Leeming High School Performing Arts Center (click here for more details).
